The Amazingly Sensational Book Series

It is so important we share stories with children to help instill kindness and compassion during their most impressionable years. I am so excited to be able to share The Amazingly Sensational Book Series with everyone.

Tracy Ann Samuels and Jamiyl Samuels are parents to their son Trey who is on the autism spectrum. Trey was bullied in school which inspired Tracy Ann and Jamiyl to create these stories as a way to support the autism community and help to educate others.

This series advocates for children with autism and helps to spread awareness. Creating books that are representative of autism within the Black community is especially pertinent because Black children are five times more likely to be misdiagnosed before being correctly diagnosed with autism. Creating visibility within this issue is especially important for children with autism to see. As Tracy Ann and Jamiyl say, it is also important for people to better understand, "how important it is to be nice to someone who appears to be different."

My sister is a kindergarten teacher and I am thrilled these books will find a home in her classroom. They will teach her students lessons that are applicable to their everyday lives while teaching them valuable lessons about their character.
